JOYOGA by Isabelle Baud

Yoga is a thousands-of-years-old Indian practice that brings body, mind and soul into harmony. Through the practice of yoga, you can find peace of mind at any time.
At the same time, the body is filled with a great deal of energy.

Effects on body, mind and soul

  • on the brain
  • strengthens mental resilience

  • on the nervous system
  • lowers blood pressure, slows breathing and calms the heartbeat

  • on hormones
  • keeps hormones and emotions in balance and increases overall well-being.

  • on the heart and lungs
  • supplies nutrients and oxygen to the organs

  • on the immune system
  • strengthens the immune system and reduces susceptibility to illness

  • on the musculoskeletal system
  • promotes positive body awareness and increases strength, endurance, balance and flexibility.
Tension and blockages are released, stimulating the flow of energy.

Through a holistic system of asanas (postures), you learn to deepen your body awareness so that you can start your everyday life feeling calm and full of energy.

Everyone can participate, regardless of age, experience, fitness level or physical condition, as all exercises are adapted to each level and individual physical state.

Vinyasa Flow

We practice varying sequences of powerful, dynamic and calmly flowing asanas which, combined with the breath, form an exercise sequence and flow into one another without rigid pauses. The flow that develops through this practice connects body and mind into one unit.
The connection of breath and movement creates a fixed choreography which, together with Ujjayi breathing (audible throat breathing), bandhas (energy locks) and vinyasas (movement flow), contributes to the detoxification of the body.

Hatha Yoga

We practice movements from a sequence of 84 traditional asanas and their variations. Each yoga posture is held for a short time.

This activates the body’s inner self-healing powers, strengthens the body and calms and centers the mind. After each yoga posture, Tadasana (Mountain Pose) or Shavasana (Corpse Pose) follows as a short period of rest, either standing or lying down. At the same time, conscious pranayama (breathing techniques) helps shift your mood and state of mind into positive vibrations.

An integral part of the practice is also the Sun Salutation (Surya Namaskar), which prepares your muscles for the following asanas.

Isabelle

Sport and movement have been a major part of my life since my youth.
A skiing accident and its consequences had a major impact on my sporting activities, as my musculoskeletal system was no longer fully functional.
This experience made me realize that physical fitness and emotional balance cannot be taken for granted.

Ultimately, both aspects led me to yoga.
Yoga is an art of living that is not limited to a sequence of exercises, but is equally an inspiration for a positive outlook on life and everyday balance.
